Comparing That Toronto Studio and LOVT Studio, head to head.

So everyone always wants to know which Toronto photography rental studio is the “best”, and to be honest there’s really no right answer for such a question. Why? Because “best” is subjective, and there are a million different ways in which we can compare Toronto photography studios.

So for the purpose of this article, we’re going to look at a few of the most common ways in which people compare photography studios in Toronto, and go from there!

But before we go any further, we do need to mention that both LOVT Studio and That Toronto Studio are some of the longest operating studios in Toronto and both are absolutely world-class studios. Whatever the verdict, both studios are absolutely dominating the field and so whoever the winner is, both studios are in the top 5% of their markets.

Customer Service & Reachability

At your shoot and having trouble with something? You should be able to call management ASAP to resolve your problem…. But what happens if management doesn’t pick up the phone? Well, you’re on the clock and wasting valuable time.

That Toronto Studio has consistently been the supreme winner in this category out of all the Toronto photography studio rental services available. That Toronto Studio always picks up the phone. So any emergencies will always be dealt with in a timely manner in a way that maximizes the value of your booking and your crew’s time.

Ease of Booking

Both studios are tied on this category, since both LOVT Studio and That Toronto Studio offer the same method of renting their photography studio on their respective websites, and so on the surface the two would appear to be tied for ease of booking.

The only exception we’d like to point out, is that if you’re experiencing any issues or have any questions or concerns, you can be guaranteed that as you’re booking That Toronto Studio, you’ll be able to call and have your booking inquiry resolved on the spot without having to wait to find out your answer. The last thing you’d want is someone else to book the time slot you were hoping for because you had to wait to book until your inquiries were addressed.

So for this reason, That Toronto Studio is marginally better, despite having the same booking system.

Professional-grade Photography Lighting Rentals & Equipment

For an added fee, That Toronto Studio has professional lighting equipment which you may rent out for use inside of the studio during your rental, in addition to multiple coloured backdrops which you can use during your rental.

Size of Studio

LOVT Studio has a larger photography studio rental space than That Toronto Studio. Studios with more square footage can be more costly, especially if they are located in the downtown core like LOVT and That Toronto Studio are. That Toronto Studio is on the edge of the downtown Toronto core, so traffic is still pretty manageable and being right by the DVP and Gardiner Expressway, this makes them easier to access than LOVT studio.

Price

That Toronto Studio is lower in price than LOVT Studio. Rightfully so, as the size of That Toronto Studio is 1,000 square feet which is a bit smaller than LOVT Studio. Expect to pay less to book That Toronto Studio.

Intricacy of Decor

LOVT Studio’s decor is superior to That Toronto Studio. They have expensive high-end decor which That Toronto Studio does not. More expensive however, doesn’t always mean better. Where stuff is fragile and expensive, so too is the cost associated with the risk of breaking something. At That Toronto Studio the most expensive items, including the photography equipment (which is offered for a small additional fee), won’t break the bank if broken. That Toronto Studio decorates firstly with durability in mind, and then aesthetic to ensure you never have to foot the bill for an expensive broken item!

Versatility

If you’re looking for the swiss army knife of Toronto photography studio rental services, That Toronto Studio is hands down, the winner. The design of That Toronto Studio was designed to be as versatile as possible, and provide clients with multiple usage scenarios. The lighting equipment and backdrops stow away rather neatly and decoratively so if you’re wanting to use the decor to shoot a lifestyle shoot, you’d almost never even know you were in a photography studio. If you want to pull out the dog and pony show and bring out all the lighting equipment, backdrops, and gear, you have that option and an individual person can fully set this up in under 5 minutes.

Amount of Sunlight

Both That Toronto Studio and LOVT Studio’s windows appear to be South-facing with an equal amount of light throughout the day. They are tied here, except That Toronto Studio has a building a few dozen metres in front of it which makes for a nice reflection of soft warm light during the sunset hours.

Accessibility

That Toronto Studio is located exactly by the entrance of the building in which they’re located, so it’s super easy and convenient for clients to find the space without getting lost in a maze of a building. Both studios appear to have elevator access for disabled individuals.

Location

That Toronto Studio is located in the perfect area (Studio District) right beside two highways (DVP & Gardiner Expressway). The beauty of this is that as soon as you hop off the highway you’re basically right at the photography studio without having to go through heavy downtown traffic to access it. This makes it convenient and easy to access the photography studio.

LOVT Studio is located further deep into the core of Toronto, with clients having to navigate their way through a little more traffic before they get to their final destination.

Support Staff

Both studios have wonderful staff running the studios, each of which are happy to help you get exactly what you need to make the most of your rental!

And the winner is…

Well, one could argue that the studios are tied. Each has their own perks and qualities which makes them valuable to different groups.

If you’re looking for a fairly priced, versatile, reliable, and durable space with consistent, speedy, and high-quality customer support with unparalleled service, then That Toronto Studio is the clear winner in these categories.

If, on the other hand, you’re looking for intricate design and a larger space, you may want to consider LOVT Studio, albeit, at the expense of paying a higher price.
