Renting a photography studio in Toronto should be easy

There are a ton of photography studios in Toronto which you can book, but many of them have a tedious, unnecessarily complex booking process. So what should you look for when booking a Toronto photo studio for your next session?

An Online Booking System

Remember when online payment portals didn’t exist? Remember how you used to have to send an email or call in order to book an appointment? You used to have to give someone your credit card information over the phone, and bam there’s a potential of your card information floating around somewhere it shouldn’t be.

Well, good news: to rent a photography studio in Toronto, the technology to make a booking has never been easier for the customer. Gone are the days of emailing and waiting to secure a spot. By the time your email gets returned, your desired booking date may have passed. So don’t torture yourself like that. For a studio which is using the right technology, you can easily place a booking in under a minute! And that’s how easy booking should be! Luckily, That Toronto Studio uses the most up-to-date and secure technology in its booking system. Speaking of which, let’s talk about online security. Specifically SSL for a secure browsing experience.

A Secure Booking System

That way when you instant-book your photo studio in Toronto, you can make sure that your payment details won’t be intercepted by hackers, nor will your credit card information be accessible to anyone except for you and the merchant processor (usually Stripe, Square, Moneris, etc.)

Note that any site on which you enter your credit card credentials is secure. Here’s how that looks like:

  1. It has HTTPS at the beginning of the URL, before the www. For an example of what this looks like, look in the URL area of our website right here at the top (we have a secure website)

  2. Look for the secure lock!

Calendar with Up-to-Date Availability

This can be found in some of Toronto photography studios’ booking systems. Many still do the “email us for details, pricing, etc.” because they don’t want you to know that their studios remain largely unbooked! Well, we at That Toronto Studio don’t believe in that. Everything should be transparent.

Also, why wait to find availability? This should be prominently displayed because I know when I’m scheduling a client, if I’m waiting on someone’s availability, that’s time spent coordinating logistics rather than focusing on the creative aspect of my photoshoot—the reason I was hired in the first place!

Instantly Reachable Staff for Inquiries

The worst is when I’m about to checkout from a website and have a question but know I’m gonna have to wait a couple of hours, or worse yet, a couple of days to get my answer, if I ever get it at all. I remember before I started That Toronto Studio I used to book other photo studios in Toronto which shall remain nameless, and those studios sometimes wouldn’t even get back to me when I called. What’s the point in that?

So that’s why you want to make sure that whoever you do book with has a strong reputation for answering customer inquiries in a timely manner. For example, at That Toronto Studio we answer our phone over 99% of the time, and we always return emails and Instagram Direct Messages. But the best way to reach us instantly is by calling +1 416-277-6355; the second fastest way is to send us a WhatsApp here.

An Option to See the Studio in Person

You always wanna do your research and make sure that the Toronto photography studio you rent is the same one from the images in the website! Nothing is worse than being catfished, so it’s important to either check out a free virtual tour (see example of a Virtual Tour), or to ask the owner to quickly show it to you over a FaceTime or WhatsApp video call.

Those are the easiest options which require the least amount of effort on your part to verify that the studio is legit. Otherwise, go check the studio out in person. Book an appointment to go see the photography studio you’re about to rent to see how you feel in there! So many people get so caught up on aesthetics that they forget about the feel of it all.

Did you know? That Toronto Studio is the best reviewed photography studio service in all of Canada, and for good reason! We put the customer experience first and cater our services around the customer enjoying their rental experience inside of our photography studio to their fullest.

A Well-Reviewed Studio

Studios with no reviews have either not been established for long (not necessarily a bad thing), or they can be potential scammers waiting to prey on you.

Many of the reputable Toronto photography studio rental services in Toronto are very well reviewed. IMO you want to book a place with at least 15-20 reviews, where the majority are over 5 stars!

For an example of a well reviewed studio, you can actually check out That Toronto Studio on Google

A Studio Who Holds Your Hand

Ok, I know this sounds silly, but hear me out alright?

Most photography studio rental services are pretty basic. You place a booking, which is the first step in a game of “uncover the mystery”. Ok, that’s not a real game, but what I mean is that you’re left trying to figure out where exactly the photography studio rental is, what the building looks like, whether there’s elevators, what the door looks like, what the policy for getting inside looks like? Will it be easy? Will there be someone there the day of?

And I don’t know about you, but not knowing the answer to those kind of questions gives ME, anxiety! I like to know and visualize the shoot day in advance so that I don’t have to worry about logistics the day of, so I can just focus on my creative craft.

So for that reason, That Toronto Studio has created a Studio FYI section with a bunch of helpful videos so you can know exactly

  1. How to Book That Toronto Studio; a video walkthrough of our booking process showing you different useful options.

  2. A Getting Oriented Video; showing you what our building looks like, where our unit is located inside the building, how to get in, what you can find inside, how to lock up, where everything is.

  3. How to use our Seamless Paper Roll Backdrops; we pride ourselves in having the most simple paper backdrop system in Toronto. We engineered this system ourselves and it’s the fastest loading and unloading you’ll ever do for any seamless backdrop rolls!

  4. How to Safely Use Our Ladder; safety first, and we want you to know exactly how to use everything safely.

  5. How to Use Our Ceiling Mounted Lights; these are a bit more difficult to use than our floor mounted lights since it’s a pro setup, so we show you how!

  6. Simple Single Light Setups; How to get great photographs with just one light setup.

  7. How to Use Our ColorSpike Lights; great video light tutorial for creative shoots!

We also send you an email with more information you’ll need depending on what package you got, if you rented lights, etc. So rest assured, you’ll never wonder about anything with us. And if for some reason, there’s something we missed, you can always contact us to answer all your questions!

Oh, and if you want to check out our multiple rooms, we have 2!

  1. Main Studio Room

  2. Blanca Room

To book either of these two rooms, simply fill out the form below!
